VPI Launches Working Group in Chile to Strengthen Local Security and Human Rights Practices

VPI Membership Application Window is Open Until September 15, 2024 

Organizations interested in becoming a VPI Member need to submit their applications in writing by September 15, 2024, to applications@voluntaryprinciples.org. To be considered for VPI Membership, an applicant must demonstrate that they meet the entry criteria for the category they are applying to (i.e. Corporate, Government, NGO, or Observer).

2023 Annual Reports Are Now Available

The submission of an Annual Report is one of the core membership expectations as per the Governance Rules of the Voluntary Principles Initiative. All Full Members of the VPI are required to report annually on their efforts to implement the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights. VPI Welcomes Mozambique as an Engaged Member

The Voluntary Principles Initiative (VPI) is pleased to announce the approval of the Republic of Mozambique as an Engaged Member of the Initiative. A provisional vote in favour of engaged membership took place in April 2024 and was ratified at the VPI Annual Plenary, held in May, 2024, in Washington, D.C., United States.

New Resources Available in Spanish

The VPI is pleased to add two new translated materials to the online Resource Library – the latest VPI “Guidance on Respecting the Rights of Human Rights Defenders”, and “10 Steps to Maintain Security in Compliance with Human Rights”. Both are now available in Spanish and freely accessible to the public.
